Private Flussfahrt auf dem Nil von Assuan nach Luxor (4 Tage, 3 Nächte)

I took a cruise with this company on Kontiki in November and starting out it just began a little interesting. My roommate and I were given a room on the bottom floor behind this heavy porthole door. We were super happy with a place to sleep, but overall, when taking stock our room was not even close to comparable to everybody else's on our tour for the same price. This further complicated the situation when during the stay water started leaking out of the ceiling attracting a good deal of mosquitoes and a heavy dripping noise all evening. When we brought up this issue, they tried to fix it, then decided to change our rooms to one just across the hall. The problem with the move was that it made me feel super uncomfortable since we had to displace employees into the room that was practically flooding. Besides that, we were not offered any true apologies or anything for the uncomfortable situation. The employees were very sweet on a day-to-day basis and the time in the shared areas was comfortable. The Wi-Fi, however, was not totally functional in anywhere except for the lobby.

Our Nile Tour ship was called the Amwaj. The boat appeared to be one of the nicer ones, with large windows in each room but no balcony. The rooftop pool was more of a plunge pool with a 10 foot swimming area (got kind of grimy when lots of people were in it), but this seemed to be standard among all ships. Our room was nice, relative to cruise ship rooms, although it had two twin beds which we pushed together to make a pseudo queen. The one major complaint was the nickel and dime attitude of the boat. The buffets were included but all drinks INCLUDING bottled water, espresso, and of course alcohol were extra. It did include entry and transportation to all the sites but for $200 per person per day it was probably a bit steep. Our tour guide was Mo, he was very schedule-oriented when it came to our itinerary but he was very knowledgeable with exceptional English.

Cruise was on the Sonesta Moon Goddess. Booked through Luxor and Aswan Travel. Our guide was Hassan Ashaur. The cruise ship was lovely with great food. The tour company organised all transfers very well and was extremely helpful to sort out any issues caused by flight delays. The guide, however, was what elevated the trip from ordinary to amazing. His history knowledge was asounding and he conveyed this knowledge to us in an interesting and very patient way. Because of his experience we saw many out of the way little details and avoided the crowds as much as possible. He is avery kind person that made sure we were happy and safe at all times. He also gave great shopping advice. As he is a freelance guide you can ask for him by name when touring Aswan, Luxor or a Nile cruise between those cities. He will elevated your tour to extra special.
